Ksatriya: Leadership in the Khmer tradition

This recent published book was written by Father Will Conquer and has a length of 303 pages. It is divided into eight chapters, such as Chapter 1 Kaundinya I, Chapter 2 Yasovarman I, Chapter 3 Suryavarman II, Chapter 4 Jayavarman VII, Chapter 5 Ang Chan, Chapter 6 Ang Duong, Chapter 7 Sihanouk, Chapter 8 Sihamoni, and the last conclusion of Khmer Leaders of Today and Tomorrow.

At the end of each chapter, the author concludes by going through personal experience and based on the evidence he has researched. Not too far from that, in the overall conclusion of the whole work, the author gives us a clearer view of what leadership in the Khmer tradition looks like and what the future holds. In addition, the introduction to this work also pointed out more about leadership: Where Do Leaders Come From? Diagnosing Cambodian Society, History and Greed, Lead Yourself Nobly Before Leading Society, Khmer can do, What Leaders Need to Have, etc. Whether in the introduction and/or the main content of the Khmer leaders from pre-Angkorian times, the Khmer leadership has existed for a very long time. More importantly, the French-American author spends a lot of his time traveling to provinces in Cambodia to research issues associated with past and present model leadership. With precise value and author’s effort to bring up the story of Khmer leadership, Mengly J. Quach University Press has further helped to compile this rare work for readers, students, and the public so that they can continue to learn about the leadership of our Cambodian ancestors from ancient times to now.

It should also be noted that the author has bilingually written and compiled this work of Ksatriya: Leadership in the Khmer tradition in Khmer and English. And our MJQE’s design team also designed this work differently from previous publications. To read Khmer or English, the reader simply flips this book up and down.
