Mr. Rithy SEM is currently the assistant editor of the Mengly J. Quach University Press. He was born in 1990 in Romduol district, Svay Rieng province, to a father who is a retired civil servant and a mother who is a housewife. In 2015, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Khmer Literature from the Royal University of Phnom Penh with a scholarship from the World Bank. Not only that, He is now pursuing a Master of Linguistics at the Royal University of Phnom Penh with a full scholarship supported by the Mengly J. Quach Foundation.

Rithy’s first work was selected by the Magic Ink Collective Committee to co-publish in 2019 for its 3rd edition. Besides that, one of his pieces, entitled The Classes, was also selected by the MJQTV producer to develop into a short film under its educational video program. His short stories of My First Day and Mr. President’s Kindness were published in a collection entitled "A Collection of Short Stories, My Role Model Dr. Mengly J. Quach". Mr. Rithy Sem contributed his work of short stories such as The Ghost of Deum Po and I’m Not Chinese’s Slave to a collection of fresh short stories titled Money’s Slave, published under Mengly J. Quach University Press. In addition, he also has some unpublished short stories, including story of the White Turmeric and Sink to the Chest, etc.
